Lotus Environmental Consulting, LLC was the lead environmental subconsultant for the proposed trail connection project in Bucks County, PA. The project is funded through federal Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) funds.
This project completed the federal compliance requirements for theconstruction of the missing Route 32 segment of the Solebury Route 202 Gateway Trail. The missing segment will connect the existing Delaware & Lehigh (D&L) National Trail to the Route 202 Cross-County Trail. This project will retire an over-capacity lane on SR 32 which will be used for the new multi-use trail and new bioswale facility to treat highway storm water. The design will include a separation between the new trail and the Route 32 roadway.
The area includes two township parks (Canal Park and Magill’s Hill Park) and residential land. Lotus was responsible for the NEPA documentation and approval. Lotus staff prepared the scoping field view document, conducted the Phase I Bog Turtle Habitat Assessment survey, and prepared the Not Applicable/No Use Section 4(f) Form and the NEPA Categorical Exclusion Evaluation.
